In 2013, the U.S. Postal Service will honor the Arlington Green Bridge in Bennington County, Vermont, with this new Priority Mail stamp.
One of the most loved and photographed covered bridges in the state, the Arlington Green Bridge was built in 1852 and takes its name from the village green that it overlooks.
Artist Dan Cosgrove used several photographs as the starting point for this digital image of the bridge against a backdrop of fall foliage. Autumn leaves around the edges of the artwork add interest, while saturated colors help create the look of a vintage poster.
The stamp will be issued in 2013, though a release date has not yet been set. You can read more about the 2013 stamp program on Beyond the Perf. And don’t forget to check out our Holiday Gift Guide for some last-minute gift-giving ideas!
