Vintage Seed Packets Stamps Set to Bloom Forever

Let’s bring in spring in style! The Vintage Seed Packets stamps have finally arrived—their bright colors the perfect compliment to warm weather greetings. One hundred years ago, the illustrations featured on the stamps encouraged Americans to create the perfect garden, and they’ve lost none of their charm today.

VintageSeedPackets-Forever-Booklet20-v2 To create the stamps, art director Antonio Alcalá used photographs of actual seed packets printed between 1910 and 1920, cropping them to highlight the beautiful floral detail.

Each of the ten stamps depicts the perfect blossoms of one variety of flower—a trio of cosmos in delicate white, pink, and red; stalks of yellow, pink, and coral digitalis; bright yellow primrose flowers with orange centers; a vibrant orange calendula; white, pink, and blue aster blooms; two shades of pinks (dianthus), one pale, one dark; linum blossoms in a rich red; white drifts of alyssum; clusters of phlox in red, pink, and purple; and pale pink, subtle yellow, and muted orange-red zinnia flowers. Which of these grow in your garden?

The Vintage Seed Packets stamps are being issued as Forever® stamps. (Forever stamps are always equal in value to the current First-Class Mail® one-ounce rate.) They are available now online and in Post Offices nationwide.
