Tennis Athletes “Play” With Icon Althea Gibson

news12s2Tennis fans who watched the U.S. Open carefully may have noticed something special on some players’ uniforms—an Althea Gibson stamp patch. Several athletes, including Donald Young and Rhyne Williams, were given the patches to wear during their matches. The patches are a way for the players to honor the tennis legend, as well as to show off the new Althea Gibson stamp.
