Bicycling Stamps Pedaling Closer

Mark your calendars, stamp fans! The Bicycling (Forever®) stamps will be issued on June 7 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

These stamps celebrate one of the most popular outdoor activities in the country. Each of the four colorful se-tenant stamps features a different kind of bike and rider: a young child just learning to ride with training wheels, a commuter pedaling to work, a road racer intent on the finish line, and an airborne BMX rider.

Recent surveys indicate that Americans enjoy billions of bike rides a year. Bicycling organizations around the country report increased participation in local biking activities, and nearly half of all Americans say they would like more bicycling resources, such as trails and bike lanes, in their communities.

Check back here for more information on the time and location of the First Day of Issue ceremony. Until then, you can pre-order your Bicycling (Forever®) stamps now!

The Dramatic, Heartfelt Finale of The Biggest Loser

This is it folks, the night we’ve all been waiting for—the live season finale of The Biggest Loser. As you get ready to find out who is, in fact, the biggest loser, why not consider making some heart healthy changes in your own life? Exercising and controlling your weight is one of the best ways to lower your risk of coronary heart disease (CHD)—the number one killer for men and women in the U.S. Regular physical activity is important for maintaining a healthy heart, but you don’t have to be an athlete to reap the rewards. Getting a moderate amount of exercise most days of the week will lower your risk for heart disease and help maintain a healthy weight. Ask your doctor how much and what kind of exercise is right for you.

The emotional transformations of all of the contestants on this season of The Biggest Loser provide a great example of the power of exercise. With a combined weight loss of more that 1,800 pounds, they show us how successful we can be when we put our minds to staying healthy. The winner of First Lady Michelle Obama’s PALA Challenge will also be announced. You won’t want to miss it!

It’s not too late to mail in letters to your favorite contestants from this season. The more you send, the better your chances of winning some awesome heart-healthy sweepstake prizes! Check out our contest page for more details.

Be sure to tune in to NBC tonight at 8/7c. to catch all the action!
